The Somatherapy Collective is a space for women to have a therapeutic focus on healing the connection between the mind and the body to address emotional, psychological issues and trauma.
From dis-membered to re-membered. Oppression to liberation. Heal your nervous system & body. Deeply connect to joyful life and living
Somatic therapy is a form of psychotherapy that incorporates the body into the therapeutic process.
It recognises the interconnection between the mind and body and aims to address emotional, psychological, and physiological issues by focusing on bodily sensations, movements, and experiences.
At The SomaTherapy Collective this includes somatic healing for the motherwound and somatic decolonisation work for women
Motherwound healing: offers women a powerful and embodied approach to healing the mother wound, helping them reclaim agency over their bodies, emotions, and relationships while fostering greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and empowerment
Decolonisation work offers women a holistic and embodied approach to reclaiming their bodies, identities, and cultures from the legacy of colonialism and systemic oppression. By centring the wisdom of the body and harnessing the power of embodied resistance, women can forge paths of healing, liberation, and empowerment for themselves and their communities
At The Somatherapy Collective we focused on somatic (in the body) practices for women that are trauma-informed, in the area of anti-oppression & violence to promote healing in the body, mind & spirit.
To re-centre humanity and the mother
